In 2025, I was awarded a grant from the Paulo Gustavo Law for the Poleniza Búzios Project , and in June we carried out this experience where I learned a lot and was also able to convey the message of graffiti in my area, showing its power to democratize art, make people reflect, and see the city with different eyes.
During three days of workshops, we discussed the history of graffiti, hip hop culture, and spray painting techniques with about 40 people aged 8 to 71, from various neighborhoods in Búzios. Everything was presented in a simple, direct, accessible, and completely free way.
From this process emerged the mural "Every Smile Matters," measuring approximately 30 square meters, collectively painted in the Praça do Trevo da Barbuda, in Manguinhos. The idea was to change the energy of the space, leave a positive message of inclusion, and show how graffiti can transform a place and those who pass through it.
The mural remains as a gift to the city, but what truly matters are the smiles of those who participated, painted, and lived this experience—may it inspire new perspectives on art, the city, and ourselves.

Gratitude to everyone who contributed in some way — in the workshops, in the painting, or in words of encouragement. A special thank you to master Alan Câmara and the team from the Municipal Secretariat of Culture and Historical Heritage of Armação dos Búzios for making the grant possible and for their continued support.
Every smile matters. 👊🏼🔥
